This developmental session, “Building & Managing Credit with Confidence,” will break down the fundamentals of how credit works, why it matters, and how you can strategically build and maintain a strong credit profile throughout your personal and professional life.
Our speakers will share real‑world financial insights, explain common credit challenges young professionals face, and provide step‑by‑step guidance for improving or protecting your credit over time. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to strengthen your financial footing, you’ll leave with actionable tools you can use immediately.

- Understanding credit scores, reports, and how they are calculated
- Smart strategies for establishing and building credit from the ground up
- Common credit mistakes and how to avoid them

Meet the Speakers:
Chris Wampler
Market President, Legence Bank
Chris brings 27 years of banking experience to his role as Market President. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics and Finance from Purdue University and has built his career around serving business customers and supporting their growth. Chris especially enjoys building strong relationships with business customers and mentoring business owners as they navigate opportunities and challenges. Outside of work, Chris is deeply committed to his community. He currently serves as Board Secretary and is a past Board President for Lampion Center. He has also served as a board member for Funk in the City and previously volunteered as a youth baseball, basketball, and football coach.
Rachel Johnson
Business Services Relationship Specialist, Legence Bank
Rachel earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism/Broadcast from Indiana University. She brings a wealth of knowledge in sales, leadership, management, fiscal responsibility, and business development. Her sales and management background will be a tremendous asset. As a Business Services Relationship Specialist, she focuses on strategy, growth and business development in our Evansville, Indiana market. She has a great deal of experience developing business relationships and working with customers to customize products and services to suit their financial needs.
