Supplier Development Program - Pitch Perfect Workshop
Supplier Development Program - Pitch Perfect Workshop
Wednesday, December 11, 2024 (12:00 PM - 3:00 PM) (CST)
Description
Learn the secrets of crafting and delivering a four-minute conversational business pitch - how to have a brief, results-driven conversation with a potential buyer of your products/services. During this interactive workshop, you'll have a chance to learn from expert panelists, then work on your own conversational pitch with their guidance.
You're also invited to participate in the following week's Pitch Power Hour to practice your pitch in a speed-dating style event where you'll meet with real buyers from large organizations participating in the Supplier Development Program.
Don't miss your chance to transform your pitch game and make a lasting impression!
Following is a framework for a four-minute conversational business pitch:
Intro and Hook (30 seconds)
Brief intro of yourself and your company, including a hook like a unique problem you solve (that’s likely to be relevant to your prospect)
Key Question(s) (2 minutes – time for questions and response)
One or two key, open-ended questions developed in advance that help qualify a prospect
i.e. What’s on the horizon for you in [insert relevant type of work]?
i.e. We’ve seen customers struggle with solving X problem. Is that a challenge for you as well and how have you tried to solve it? (this one requires choosing a problem that your prospect is quite likely to be dealing with)
Zero In (60 seconds)
Explicitly tie your value proposition (how you uniquely serve the market) to the challenge or opportunity you’ve validated/uncovered
Next Steps (30 seconds)
Suggest and agree upon a specific, reasonable next step
i.e. set expectation that you’ll email a capability statement and schedule a time to meet
i.e. schedule a meeting (if it feels appropriate to move that fast)
i.e. ask for an intro to the appropriate person if needed
Emphasis on it being a conversation, not a memorized speech.
