Today’s Story: Beth Baro, WillowTree of Posey County 


Beth Baro graduated high school at Mt. Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, Indiana. She received her B.A. in Fine Arts from Indiana University with a major in Art History. She lived and worked in Burkina Faso, West Africa for 3 years as a Peace Corps volunteer. She also lived in Northern Virginia for several years before moving back to Indiana. Since her return to the area, she is now the Director of WillowTree of Posey County.

Willowtree of Posey County was formed in 2000 when a survivor of domestic violence spoke out. In spite of her fear of admitting she was a victim, the conversation she began lead to the grassroots beginnings of their organization. Beth with go into more depth detail on what services and programs they have to offer. As well as discussing the beautiful healing garden that is located at Brittlebank Park in Mount Vernon, Indiana.
