USI Choir to bring Spring Semester to a close with campus concert

The University of Southern Indiana Chamber Choir and Women’s Choir will perform their Spring Semester Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 1 on the second floor Reading Room of David L. Rice Library on campus. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. This concert is free and open to the public and will feature music by William Byrd, Nicolai Kedrov, Elaine Hagenberg, Gyorgy Orban, Brian Tate and many more.

“This will be the first time the choirs have performed on campus since fall 2019,” says Daniel Craig, Associate Professor of Music. “Our music will reflect a sense of homecoming and ponder the ways to respond to the chaos we have found along the way.”

The USI Chamber Choir was established in 1996 as a part of the continual growth of music at the University of Southern Indiana. Made up of students from all disciplines of study, the USI Chamber Choir promotes the quality performance of exquisite choral music in an artistic setting. The repertory of this ensemble ranges from Medieval Carols and secular pieces to more contemporary settings of liturgical and secular choral music.
