This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This position will work at one of the following schools in a summer reading loss prevention program called Level Up for Grades: Caze, Fairlawn, Delaware, Evans, Glenwood, Chandler, and Oakdale Elementary. Opportunities include the roles of mornning assistant teacher and afternoon enrichment staff. Some staff may work within both roles and receive up to 35 hours per week. This program runs Monday - Friday starting Tuesday, May 30th to June 30th.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with youth.

- Complete required abuse risk management training.

- Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising youth.

- Report suspicious or inappropirate behaviors and policy violations.

- Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.

- Provide support to EVSC teachers during a summer academic program from 8:00am-11:30am serving 1st - 3rd graders.

- Afternoon enrichment staff will provide 4.5 hours of activities including character development, physical activity, nutrition, art and music, and educational field trips in the community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen and Blood Borne Pathogen training required within 60 days of employment

- Child Abuse Prevention training required before/on first day of working with youth.
