2023 Infant Mortality Summit

2023 Infant Mortality Summit

Friday, February 17, 2023 (9:00 AM - 2:30 PM) (CST)

Description

Join us February 17th from 9am-2:30pm at Old National Events Plaza in the Exhibit Hall as we highlight infant mortality, especially racial disparities, in Southwestern Indiana.

In our community the infant mortality rates are higher than state and national rates and there is a noted disparity. A black infant has a 2.5-3 times higher rate of death than a white infant.

Vanderburgh County Health Department is having an Infant Mortality Summit that has come together very quickly to be held on February 17 from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM in which the former Surgeon General, Jerome Adams, will be speaking on black and Hispanic infant mortality regarding the local, statewide and national rates. Please sign up soon here or on the attached QR code. The lieutenant governor and local politicians will be attending to have a call to action.

Registration will close the first week in February or when seats are full. Register early. REGISTER HERE.
